Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Electric Only Water
No gas motors allowed on Tomahawk Creek Flooding — electric or paddle power only. That keeps it dead quiet and uncrowded, but don't show up expecting to run your outboard.
Shallow Throughout
This is genuinely shallow water across most of the flooding. Pike stack up in here, and panfish are thick, but don't bring a deep-V expecting open water cruising. A jon boat or canoe is the right call.
Watch The Stickups
The flooding has a lot of submerged timber and stickups, especially as you move away from the launch. It's part of the charm if you're in a canoe, but you need to pay attention or you'll ding a prop or hang up. Navigate slow.
Parking No Issue
22 gravel spots and this place rarely fills. Even on summer weekends you'll find room. The ramp itself is asphalt and in decent shape — single lane but with so few boats out here, you're not waiting on anyone.
Year-Round Spot
This gets solid ice fishing traffic in winter — pike are the main draw through the ice. Summer and fall it's panfish heaven. The campground at Onaway State Park ties in nicely if you want to make a weekend of it.
