Shallow Lake Overall
Gulliver tops out at 28 feet and most of it is way shallower than that. Keep your motor trimmed up, especially along the shoreline shelves. If you're running anything with a deep draft, stick to the center of the lake.
Spring Road Warning
The roads leading in can get sloppy in spring — you'll want four-wheel drive or at least good clearance if you're hauling a trailer before things dry out in late May. Once summer hits, the road is fine.
Small But Rarely Crowded
One lane and only 11 trailer spots, but this lake doesn't get hammered. Even on a Saturday morning in July you'll likely find a spot. It's not the destination lake for most people heading to the eastern UP, which works in your favor.
Not A Trophy Fishery
There are pike and bass in here but nothing to write home about. If you're in the area and want better fishing, there are stronger options in Schoolcraft County. Gulliver is more of a scenic paddle-and-relax lake than a fishing destination.
The View Though
Whatever this lake lacks in depth and fishing, it makes up for in scenery. Bald eagles are everywhere, the water is clean, and it's dead quiet most of the time. Bring the kayak, a cooler, and lower your expectations — you'll love it.
