Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Ramp Is Gone
The old concrete ramp was pulled out because ice flows kept destroying it. There's no real launch infrastructure here anymore — no lanes, no trailer parking. You're looking at a carry-in situation only, so canoes, kayaks, and small inflatables are about all you're getting on the water from this side.
Drive To Water
The campground itself sits back in the woods, not on the lake. It's a decent drive or a long walk from your campsite to the water and picnic area. Don't roll in expecting waterfront access — plan accordingly.
Solitude Is The Draw
This place is empty most of the time. Even on summer weekends, you might see five out of 72 campsites occupied. If you want a quiet spot to paddle out and fish without a crowd, this is it. Cell service is basically nonexistent, so bring what you need.
Bare-Bones Setup
No showers, no flush toilets — just outhouses and 20-amp electric. Water fill station is available, but that's about it for amenities. First-come-first-serve camping with a state park pass required. It's rustic, and that's the whole point.
