Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Weekend Timing Matters
This place gets slammed on weekends starting around noon. If you're launching Saturday or Sunday, get there early morning or you'll be sitting in a line at a single lane with only 8 trailer spots.
Tight Maneuvering
The launch sits right off a fairly busy road and there's not much room to work with when backing in. If you're running a bigger boat, you can do it — just don't expect a wide staging area. Take your time and ignore the traffic.
Dock Situation
The dock is rough and often partially submerged depending on water levels. Plan on getting your feet wet when loading and unloading. Water shoes aren't optional here.
Great Positioning
What makes this launch worth the hassle is the access — you're right on the St. Clair River with easy runs to the upper part of Lake St. Clair and Muscamoot Bay. Hard to beat that kind of range from one ramp.
24-Hour Access
One of the real perks is round-the-clock access. You can launch pre-dawn for an early walleye bite or pull out well after dark without worrying about gates. Restrooms are across the road in the day use area, not right at the ramp.
