Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Parking Headaches
Only 5 trailer spots, and people have a habit of parking right in front of the ramp itself, which can block you from launching entirely. If you show up on a summer weekend afternoon, expect to wait or get creative.
No Dock
There's no dock at the launch, so retrieving your boat solo is a juggling act — you're wading in to guide the boat onto the trailer while trying to keep things lined up. Bring a buddy or at least tall boots.
Small Lake, Small Ramp
Single lane on a quiet lake in St. Joseph County. It works fine for smaller boats and jet skis, but don't roll up with a 22-footer expecting a smooth operation. This is a no-frills DNR launch, plain and simple.
Go Early or Midweek
With just one lane and minimal parking, weekday mornings are your best bet. Summer weekends bring out the jet ski crowd and families, and that tiny lot fills fast. By 10 AM on a Saturday you might be out of luck.
