Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tight Turnaround
With only one lane and six trailer spots, this place gets awkward fast if even two rigs show up at the same time. Turning a trailer around when someone else is parked near the ramp takes real patience and a short wheelbase helps.
Small Lake Advantage
Pleasant Lake is a quieter alternative if you're running a smaller boat — think 16 feet and under. It's not the place to bring a big bass boat, but for a jon boat or kayak it's perfectly functional.
Weekday Is Your Friend
Six trailer spots fill up surprisingly quick on a Saturday morning. If you're planning a weekend trip, get there early or you'll be figuring out creative parking on the shoulder. Weekdays you'll likely have the whole launch to yourself.
Clean But Basic
The site is well-kept and there's a restroom, which puts it ahead of some other small St. Joseph County launches. Don't expect anything fancy — no dock, no fish cleaning station — but it gets the job done.
