Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny & Quiet
This is a small, no-frills launch on a small lake — one lane, five trailer spots, and that's it. If you're looking for solitude on a weekday, you'll probably have the whole place to yourself.
Weeds Get Thick
Lake Fourteen gets seriously weedy, especially mid-summer through fall. If you're running an outboard, expect to be clearing vegetation off your prop regularly. A small electric trolling motor is the way to go here.
Bluegill Honey Hole
This lake is a sleeper for panfish. The bluegill fishing can be genuinely good if you work the weed edges. Don't come expecting bass tournament water — come expecting a cooler full of gills.
Small Boats Only
With just one narrow lane and minimal parking, you're really limited to jon boats, canoes, and small aluminum. Don't try to muscle anything over 16 feet in here — the approach doesn't accommodate it well and you'll block the only lane for everyone else.
