Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Winter Access Gamble
Don't count on getting in here after a snowfall. The lot doesn't get plowed with any regularity — I've seen it sit untouched for weeks after a storm. If you're doing any ice fishing, bring a truck you trust and maybe a shovel.
Small Lot, Rarely Matters
Ten trailer spots sounds tight, but this lake barely draws a crowd. Weekdays you'll practically have the place to yourself. Even summer weekends, I've only seen it approach full maybe once or twice — and that was around the Fourth of July.
Single Lane, Take It Slow
One lane means if somebody's struggling on the ramp, you're just waiting. Not usually an issue given how quiet it is, but on the rare busy Saturday morning you'll want to have your boat prepped and straps off before you back down.
Don't Forget the Passport
You need a Michigan State Recreation Passport to launch here. No pay station, no day pass option on-site — if you don't already have it on your registration, you're out of luck. Handle that before you drive out.
