Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny Lot, Plan Accordingly
Six trailer spots go fast on summer weekends. If you show up after 8 AM on a Saturday, you're probably parking on the grass shoulder — and that's tight with a trailer. Weekday mornings you'll have the place to yourself.
Small Boats Only
This is a one-lane ramp on a small, quiet lake. Perfect for a jon boat, canoe, or small bass boat. Don't try hauling anything over 18 feet in here — the turnaround area won't cooperate.
Weed Season Gets Thick
By mid-summer the weeds really take over, especially in the shallows near the ramp. You'll be pulling vegetation off your prop regularly. Early season — April through mid-June — is the sweet spot before it gets choked up.
The Real Draw
This lake is about solitude, not convenience. You won't find amenities, but you also won't find crowds. It's the kind of spot where you can fish for hours without seeing another boat. If you want action and facilities, head to one of the bigger Van Buren lakes instead.
