Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Shallow Ramp Trouble
Water levels can get really low here, especially late summer. I've had to fight to get a boat on and off the trailer — if you're running anything bigger than a small aluminum, scout the water depth at the ramp before committing.
Carry-In Friendly
This is more of a kayak, canoe, or inflatable spot than a serious trailer launch. The ramp exists but it's rough and hasn't seen real maintenance in a while. If you're bringing something light you can carry, you'll have a great time.
Parking Isn't The Issue
Big paved lot with room for maybe 25 vehicles, and most spaces are long enough for a trailer rig. Even on weekends I've never seen it full. The problem here is the ramp condition, not the parking.
Good Kid Spot
There's a grassy beach area to the left of the ramp that's perfect for little ones — the water stays shallow close to shore. Decent panfish action from the bank too, so you can set up a bobber rod for the kids while you relax in the shade.
Fading Infrastructure
This place used to be in much better shape. The ramp concrete is deteriorating, and the overall site feels like it's slipped down the state park's priority list. Still a pleasant, quiet spot for a paddle or some shore fishing, but don't expect a polished experience.
