Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Easy Pontoon Launch
The ramp is well-suited for pontoons — gentle grade, decent width, and the concrete holds up fine into the water. Two lanes keep things moving unless you hit a holiday weekend.
Pilgrim Village Next Door
There's a bait shop (Pilgrim Village) right at the ramp. Grab tackle, live bait, and local intel on what's biting before you even back the trailer in. Saves you a trip into Cadillac.
Parking Fills Mid-Morning
24 trailer spots sounds decent until the Fourth of July or a sunny Saturday in August. By 10 AM on peak weekends, you're jockeying for a spot. Get there early or plan on a weekday trip.
State Park Pass Required
This is inside Mitchell State Park, so you'll need a Recreation Passport on your plate or you're paying the day-use fee. Easy to forget if you're just running in for a quick launch.
Lake Mitchell vs. Cadillac
The park sits between Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac, and this ramp puts you on the Mitchell side — quieter water, less jet ski traffic, and solid panfish spots along the weed edges. If you want bigger water action, you can run through the canal to Cadillac.
