Crowding The ramp itself rarely backs up — the crowd here is swimmers and picnickers, and the 30 vehicle spots outnumber the trailer spots six to one. Summer weekends the swim area hums while the lanes stay workable.

Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
The Family Flagship
High Point is where Bay County goes to touch its lake: two wide concrete lanes with a floating dock, a marked swim area with platforms, a playground, and picnic tables under what shade there is. FWC's own driving directions to Deer Point end here — this is the lake's front door.
Launching Among Swimmers
The trade for all that family energy is a shared basin: kids swim near the ramp and wander toward it on busy days, and the no-wake buoys mean an idle start. Come at opening on a summer Saturday and you'll beat both the swimmers and the heat.
Carry It Out
The county runs this park trash-can-free on purpose — pack out everything you bring, because there is nowhere to leave it. One portable toilet serves the whole park; plan accordingly.
Shallow and Grassy
The water off the park is knee-deep and grassy for a long way out — perfect for wading kids, less perfect for a deep-V at winter drawdown, when this shoreline is among the first to go skinny. December through February, the dam-end ramps are the surer bet.
Gator Rules Apply
The swim area is unsupervised and the lake's alligator population is real. Daylight swimming in the marked area, dogs on leash, nothing in the water at dawn or dusk — the local rules, learned the local way.
