Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Simply a Boat Landing
One concrete lane, a walkway down each side, a grass lot, no facilities — simply a boat landing. It sits at the edge of Lake Talquin State Park, and when the Williams lot two miles west fills up, this is the pressure valve.
Roughest, Still Fine
In the local best-ramp debate this one gets named the roughest on the lake — and the same locals use it anyway without a second thought. It launches boats fine; it just doesn't pamper anyone.
Night Shift
Open 24 hours and genuinely empty late — a couple of regulars specifically fish it in the dead hours for the solitude. Bring a headlamp, mind the spiders on the walkway rails, and enjoy having mid-lake to yourself.
State Park Next Door
Lake Talquin State Park's trails, bluffs, and picnic pavilions are adjacent — worth the stop even on a non-boat day. The park itself is day-use; this county landing is what stays open around the clock.
