Plan B — if this lot is full Hernando County's Boating Resources page lists nine maintained waterways and ramps: Bayport, Jenkins Creek, Hernando Beach, Weeki Wachee/Rogers Park, Hunters Lake, Lake Lindsey, Lake Townsen, Mountain Lake, and Withlacoochee/Nobleton. Lake Townsen and Mountain Lake are the nearest freshwater alternatives on it. In January 2026 the county's Waterways Advisory Committee asked on the record whether the County could use the private ramp at Pasco-Hernando State College to reach Hunters Lake — a county question about a county arrangement, not an invitation for the public to use a private ramp.

FWC's row lists the operator as "City of Spring" — a truncation, and no such government exists; Spring Hill is unincorporated. The ramp is Hernando County's: SWFWMD describes a county-maintained ramp here, and the county lists Hunters Lake among its maintained waterways. The Spring Hill address is just an address.

For a can-I-launch call, use Hernando County Waterways Maintenance at (352) 754-4060. The (352) 754-4742 number on the county's Boating Resources page is for reporting broken navigation lights — that, or Coast Guard Station Yankeetown on VHF 16 or 352-447-6900.

FWC records one concrete lane in good-to-excellent shape, paved parking for 11 trailers and 49 vehicles, lighting, no dock and no toilet — 2009-era attributes the county neither confirms nor contradicts. Paper Depth vs. Sand
SWFWMD's 2005 survey puts the ramp's concrete from 21.0 ft down to 13.2 ft NGVD — 3.9 ft of water over the toe at the adopted minimum lake level. The lake measured 12.71 ft in June 2026, below the toe, and the county's position is that accreted sand, not stage alone, is what made the launch too shallow to use.

FWC says 24 hours, but the county has debated the gate — a 2022 resident request to close it dusk-till-dawn, and a Board review of four options from manual closure to hunting-season closure, none adopted in any published document. Treat 24-hour access as unconfirmed and have a fallback if you arrive in the dark.
