What can be said is that the pool was running low through July 2026 — 1.3 ft below its 62.1 ft NAVD88 regulation schedule on SFWMD’s 19 July 2026 reading — and that this is a canal launch, not a lake launch. Idle out and read the water rather than trusting a line you ran last year.
DockFWC’s inventory records both a launch dock and a staging dock; Osceola County describes a single ramp with a fixed courtesy dock. Either way there is a dock here, which is more than Gentry’s or Trout’s ramps offer.

Crowding This is the only public ramp on 3,484 acres, so spring-spawn and weekend mornings concentrate on one lane. The two official sources disagree on how much room there is: FWC’s inventory records one lane with five trailer spaces plus one accessible space, while Osceola County’s page describes two lanes and parking capable of accommodating eight trailers. Neither number is large. Arrive early or expect to wait, and if a tournament has found this chain you will know it in the driveway.
Plan B — if this lot is full Same pool, different water: the Trout Lake Public Boat Ramp on Bass Highway launches into the same undivided pool — no structure stands between Trout and Alligator — but it is a DIFFERENT lake and about seven miles away as the crow flies, so from the parking lot it is a trailer trip around the north side of the chain and then a long run back down through Coon and Lizzie. Smith’s Landing on Lake Gentry is closer, under two miles by road, but it is different water in a different pool below the S-60 spillway; you must trailer to it and you cannot reach it by boat from here at any water level.

FWC’s ramp inventory lists this site as open 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Osceola County’s posted park hours at its ramp sites on this chain are sunrise to sunset, which is the more restrictive of the two at the evening end. The county owns and gates the site — build the day around daylight and call Osceola County parks at 407-742-0375 if you need to launch early or come off the water late.

Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
The Only Door on Alligator Lake
One concrete ramp, a dock, gravel parking and no fee — that is the complete public access to 3,484 acres. Osceola County runs it; the number in FWC’s record is 407-742-0662 and county parks answer at 407-742-0375. There is no ramp B on this lake, so if the weather or the water level is marginal, make the call in the driveway rather than at the water’s edge.
You Launch in a Canal, Above a Spillway
This site is on the C-33 canal, not the lake, just above the S-60 structure. The canal turns a corner right below the ramp: northeast leads to Alligator Lake, south-southwest to Lake Gentry. Idle upstream, away from the structure — open water is about three-quarters of a mile out.
Where This Ramp Actually Gets You
Five lakes, no structures: Alligator, Lizzie, Coon, Center and Trout run as one pool, gauged at one elevation. What you cannot do is go downstream — S-60 has no lock, so Lake Gentry is a two-mile tow, not a boat ride, and East Lake Toho is four structures away.
The Address Is Not the Ramp
The site is signed and addressed off Hickory Tree Road (CR 534), about a quarter mile south of the launch itself — FWC records 4351 Hickory Tree Road and Osceola County lists 4379, and the launch is reached by driving north along the canal bank from there. Navigate to the coordinates rather than the street number, and do not be alarmed when the mailbox and the ramp do not line up.
