Granada Public Boat Ramp

Two paved lanes at the end of Ridgeway Drive on the west shore — the smallest of Toho's four public ramps and the calmest. On a lake that hosts hundred-boat tournaments, a ramp where you never wait in line earns its place. No restrooms, room for maybe 8–10 trailers — it simply gets you on the water without a scene.

You don't launch onto open lake — you launch onto a canal that runs out through lily pads and Kissimmee grass before the water opens up. It's a pretty ride, but it's skinny: fine for bass boats, jon boats, airboats, and paddlecraft, while bigger rigs should mind the prop when the lake is drawn down or the dry season has the water low.

The Granada area is one of Toho's named scraped zones — shoreline bulldozed to hard sand during engineered drawdowns — which is why it shows up in winter fishing reports alongside Whaley's Landing and North Steer Beach. December through April, the bedding flats that make this lake famous are a short idle from the ramp.

For a paddler, Granada is the easiest quiet drop-in on the west shore: sheltered canal water to warm up in, wildlife everywhere — sandhill cranes bold enough to peck at parked cars, plus the usual gators — and county surveillance cameras over the lot. The swim-at-your-own-risk sign means exactly what you think it means on this lake.

No restrooms, little shelter over the lot (a few trees near the canal are the only shade), and the county posts closing at 9 PM — no overnight or pre-dawn staging like the 24-hour Lakefront and Whaley's ramps. Pack accordingly and it's a gem; arrive expecting facilities and it's a bare ramp.
