Crowding Five trailer spots is the pinch point on a 490-acre urban lake — get there early on winter-spawn weekends. The eight vehicle-only spaces absorb the bank-fishing and picnic crowd.
Plan B — if this lot is full Lake Deeson's 24-hour lighted ramp is barely a mile east (a much smaller crappie lake); Lake Parker's Lakeland ramps are about four miles southeast (bigger urban water) — both different lakes.

Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
The Paved-Lot Advantage
One concrete lane in good-to-excellent shape with an actual paved parking lot — rarer than it should be among Polk's small county ramps, most of which park you on gravel or grass. Five trailer spots and eight vehicle spaces, free, with picnic tables. No dock and no restrooms: launch, fish, leave.
Watch the Sky
Polk County's page says Lake Gibson 'serves as a seaplane base.' No FAA-registered base exists here, so read that as informal floatplane traffic, common enough that the county put it in writing. Treat aircraft on the water like the biggest boat you've ever yielded to.
Day Hours, City Lake
FWC lists 5 a.m.–10 p.m. — no 24-hour designation here, unlike Juliana and Deeson nearby. If your plan runs past the gate, Deeson's lighted 24-hour ramp is about a mile east on a much smaller lake.
