RampSand — 'hardpacked sand mixed with gravel' per Polk County; not paved, 1 lane
DockNo dock
Trailer Parking6 spots · gravel/limestone (not paved)
Crowding Six spaces on a lake with no forecast page and no reputation to chase — pressure is light by design. If the little lot ever fills, it's a cool-season weekend morning.
Plan B — if this lot is full Lake Buffum's public ramp (~4 mi south) is the nearest alternative, and the Frostproof circuit — Crooked Lake and Reedy Lake — holds the bigger water southeast. All different lakes.

Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Read the Sand Before You Back In
The county says it plainly: 'This ramp is not paved. It is made of hardpacked sand mixed with gravel.' FWC rates the condition good-to-excellent, and the wording implies routine trailer use — but treat it as jon-boat and light-trailer water when dry, with real caution for heavy glass boats or wet conditions. Walk it before you back down it.
After Hours Is Allowed
The posted window is 5 a.m.–10 p.m., but both FWC's row and the county's page carry the same rider: boat launching and retrieval are allowed after park hours. On a lake this quiet, that's a standing invitation to have the dawn entirely to yourself.
Where Is This Place, Exactly?
FWC's address says Bartow 33830; the county's says Lake Wales 33841. Both are mailing-route fictions — the ramp sits on Marshall Edwards Road in the Alturas countryside between the two towns. Navigate by the coordinates, not the city name.
