Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Very Shallow Lake
This lake is deceptively shallow across most of its footprint. You can get a kayak or canoe out there no problem, but don't bring anything with real draft — even a small jon boat motor is going to be churning up weeds and muck in most spots.
Kayak-Friendly Setup
The dock is in solid shape and makes for easy kayak and canoe launches. Honestly, that's the ideal way to fish this lake. Leave the bass boat at home.
Plenty Of Room
Only 5 trailer spots, but with a single-lane ramp on a small lake in Clare County, you're almost never competing for space. The turnaround area is generous — easy to back in even if you're not great at it.
Vault Toilets Are Rough
There are vault toilets on site but they can get absolutely nasty, especially mid-summer. Don't count on them being pleasant. Plan accordingly.
Quiet Gem For Pike
It's a peaceful little lake that doesn't draw crowds, and there are pike in here worth targeting. Weed-choked water like this is classic pike habitat. Mornings are gorgeous out there — geese, clear water near shore, hardly another soul around.
