Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tight Maneuvering
Single lane with very little room to work with. If you're backing a larger boat — say 20 feet or more — you'll be doing a lot of tight adjustments. Not the place to learn how to trailer.
Parking Headaches
Only 10 trailer spots, and small cars love to take up spaces that should be reserved for rigs. On summer weekends you'll end up parking along the road, which means longer walks back to the dock and slower launch/retrieval for everyone.
Hard To Find
GPS and map apps can send you straight to someone's driveway instead of the actual launch. If you haven't been before, look for the site on satellite imagery ahead of time or you'll burn 15 minutes driving around confused.
Loose Enforcement Zone
This launch attracts boaters who'd rather not deal with DNR presence. Expect jet skis and ski boats running close and ignoring no-wake etiquette near the ramp. If you're fishing, early mornings midweek are your best bet before the chaos rolls in.
Fall Is The Sweet Spot
The scenery around the lake is legitimately beautiful once the leaves turn, and the recreational boat traffic drops off dramatically after Labor Day. That's when this little launch actually works the way it should — quiet water, open parking, no hassle.
