Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
The Family Landing
Stoutamire is less a boat ramp with a park than a park with a boat ramp: playground, nature walk, picnic tables, fishing docks, and proper flush restrooms. Quiet, clean, peaceful — and it's the obvious pick when half the crew is fishing off the dock and the other half needs a swing set.
Tiny Trailer Lot
The single paved lane is in good shape, but three trailer spots is three trailer spots. Solo weekday anglers are fine; on a bright Saturday, have Wainwright (a mile west) or Luther Hall in your pocket.
West-End Water
You're launching into the lake's western reaches, close to the Little River and upper-lake arms where moving water draws stripers and white bass in spring — and convenient to the quieter grass-and-timber banks that don't see the east-end tournament traffic.
Dock Note
The fishing docks here get real use — one regular calls it his favorite escape from the hustle. Sunoco up the road covers ice and snacks. Park areas close at 7 PM, but the ramp itself stays open to boaters and anglers around the clock.
