Blount Landing

Lake Talquin · Leon County, Florida
Last verified: July 2, 2026
Standing timber, stumps, and floating logs lurk throughout this flooded-forest reservoir, many just under the surface — run the marked river channel when you can, keep speeds honest in open water, and be extra careful in low light.

Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
The Quiet One
Blount is the landing locals bike to after work — peaceful, never packed, the kind of place where you just sit and listen to the water. It's a neighborhood favorite on the far southwest shore, with a good single lane, a launch dock, and 14 trailer spots that almost never fill.
Bring the DEET
The one warning that matters here is seasonal: yellow flies. Late spring into summer they will make a meal of you here — repellent is non-negotiable, and long sleeves aren't a bad idea on still days.
No Facilities
No restrooms, no pier — a launch dock and water. The trade is solitude. Nearest full facilities are at Stoutamire, three miles east.
Down-Lake Position
You're near the lake's southwest end, a short run from the Jackson Bluff Dam pool and the deeper down-lake water — striper territory in the cool months, and a shorter idle through the timber than the east-end ramps demand.
