Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Small, Quick, Close
A single well-kept lane at the end of Lakesedge Drive on the lake's west side — the closest public water access to Lake Placid. It's clean, easy, and very handy, and the parking is genuinely scarce. If the spaces are gone, Windy Point is three miles south with room for everyone.
Truly No Frills
No restrooms, no pier, and no dock to count on — this is a launch, not a park. It suits a quick solo morning or a kayak drop far better than a two-truck operation, and the light traffic is exactly why the regulars like it.
West-Shore Water
You're launching between the lake's two prime corners: the deep southwest speck water and the Josephine Creek mouth are a short run south, and the west-shore grass lines hold bass without the tournament traffic that works out of Windy Point.
Same Lake, Same Rules
Everything that defines Istokpoga applies from this little ramp too: four feet of average depth, wind that gets serious fast, muck that grabs, and gators in residence. Statewide bass regulations — five fish, one over 16 inches — are the current rule here as everywhere on the lake.
