Call Before You Tow
Okee-Tantie is the landmark north-shore access at the Kissimmee River mouth — campground, marina, restaurant, the works — but its main ramp is the first casualty when the lake drops, and FWC flagged it temporarily closed in spring 2026 on low water. The airboat ramp and marina kept running. This is a call-ahead ramp: 863-763-6950.
When It's Open, It's a Basecamp
Full-service in a way most Okeechobee ramps aren't: overnight slips, a campground, bait and fuel on site, and a straight shot to the north-shore bass and crappie water. If you're making a weekend of the Big O, this is the north-side hub — water permitting.
Shallow-Water Respect
The north shore is skinny water studded with bulrush and eel grass — run the marked channels, trim up, and give the nine-foot-average lake the same wind respect every Okeechobee veteran does.
