Marsh Bend — 'the Outlet' to everyone local — is the county's showpiece: two ADA-accessible concrete lanes on the Outlet River, a fishing pier, flush restrooms, sixteen picnic tables, seven grills, disc golf, volleyball, a pet station, and trails into the SWFWMD's river-corridor preserve next door. It's the easy pick for a family day.
Launching on the Outlet
You launch into the Outlet River here, not the open lake — a short idle east puts you on Panasoffkee proper, and a turn west runs the shady fish-camp corridor toward the Withlacoochee. That geography is a feature: the river run is protected water on windy days and holds fish of its own along the shade lines.
Shellcracker Season HQ
When the redear bed on the spring moons, this lot fills with license plates from everywhere — the pier fishes, the grills work, and the flats a short run east carry the anchored fleet. Come early in the bedding windows or embrace the community of it.
