Water DepthNot published. No Florida Forest Service page and no FWC field we read gives a depth here; the water at this ramp follows Withlacoochee River stage.
DockFWC records DockType as "Unknown" and no Florida Forest Service page we read describes a dock here.
Trailer Parking4 spots · not paved — gravel, limestone or packed soil (fwc), condition "good"
Crowding No visitation or crowding data is published for this launch. FWC records four trailer spaces — a small gravel lot a good weekend morning could fill, while the Day Use Area ramp 250 m north has six. Campground guests are on site year-round.
Plan B — if this lot is full The Silver Lake Day Use Area ramp is 250 m north on the same water, with six trailer spaces instead of four. Cypress Glen's hand launch is about 0.47 mi south for carry-in craft. River Junction has the most trailer parking of the four, but FWC carries it as Temporarily Closed and its current status is unconfirmed — call (352) 797-4140 first.

What You'll Pay and How
One day-use fee covers the whole Silver Lake area: $2.00 per person — not per vehicle — at the gatehouse when staffed or the yellow Iron Ranger honor box. Four people pay $8.00; campers pay their site fee separately. FWC's row still carries a $1.00 figure — 2009-era and stale. Bring cash: an iron ranger is a drop box, not a card reader.
Hours: Use the Agency's Clock
FWC's row records "Daytime Use Only" with no clock. The Florida Forest Service publishes 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., 365 days a year, for the Silver Lake day use areas. Go with the agency's 8 to 8.
Small-Boat Ramp, FWC's Numbers
FWC records two lanes, four trailer spaces (one accessible), concrete in good-to-excellent shape and gravel parking; no Forest Service page publishes lane or trailer counts, so the geometry is FWC-inventory-only. FWC also names this a "Small Boat and Canoe Launch" despite the two-lane record — don't plan it as a big-boat ramp.
You Are Launching Onto a River
The Forest Service calls Silver Lake part of the Withlacoochee River system. There is current, the level moves with rain upstream, and the channel is timbered. Nearest stage: USGS 02312500 at Croom, about a mile downstream — 39.12 ft NAVD88 on 31 July 2026, roughly seven feet below action stage.
Getting There
31475 Silver Lake Road, Brooksville, about 5 miles from I-75, open year-round. FDEP's drive: I-75 Exit 301 to US 98/SR 50, east (away from Brooksville) about a mile to the light at Croom Rital Road. The agency's own caveat: road noise from the interstate at times.
On Site
FWC lists a grill and picnic area plus an accessible composting toilet; no fish-cleaning station, pier or decontamination station appears in any record. The campground behind the ramp has 23 water/electric sites, a bathhouse and a dump station.
Phone Numbers
FWC's contact field is empty on all four ramps on this reach. Use the Withlacoochee State Forest project office, (352) 797-4140, or WSF Dispatch, (352) 797-4100.
Accessibility
FWC records one accessible trailer space and an accessible composting toilet but leaves the site unrated, and the gravel lot is hard going for a wheelchair after rain. None of it is confirmed by the managing agency — if accessibility is decisive, call (352) 797-4140 first.
